Doctoral Network in Functional Marine Biodiversity (FunMarBio)

Applications are welcome to the Åbo Akademi University Doctoral network in Functional Marine Biodiversity (FunMarBio); four full-time four-year doctoral positions from August 1 st, 2016.

This call is open for those who have a Master’s degree in (marine) biology/ecology or an other relevant field of science (the applicants must receive their MSc degree no later than May 6 th, 2016). The purpose of the position is to pursue one’s own doctoral studies, and to graduate within four years. Employed doctoral students may be assigned tasks (no more than 5% of total time) in connection with teaching, supervising (BSc, MSc), and other tasks in accordance with current collective bargaining agreements and individual annual working schedules.

Marine biology and ecology at Åbo Akademi offers an excellent research training environment, including courses and transferable skills and career development plans. The successful candidates will be supervised by affiliated principal investigators, and all doctoral students will be integrated in successful research groups and international networks (primarily Nordic, Baltic Sea-region, and European research- and training programs currently funding our research).
