Currently seeking a 4-year postdoc in ecological modelling

at the University of Bergen

Topic: Half of the Earth's biological production takes place in oceanic and coastal areas. Development of models capturing this production and how organisms and ecosystems respond to variations in natural and anthropogenic forcing is important. Central to this postdoctoral project is to reduce the uncertainty of such models through improved characterization of biological traits and their interactions with the environmental gradients of the water column. The microbial food web is an important component, and the project will cooperate with the Marine microbiology research group (www.uib.no/fg/mm).

The project is supervised by Dag L. Aksnes (email: dag.aksnes@bio.uib.no) and the workplace will be the Theoretical Ecology Group at the University of Bergen. The position is also affiliated with the Hjort Centre for Marine Ecosystem Dynamics. Application deadline is 15 February 2015.
