2012 Report from NorMER SAB Released

The Scientific Advisory Board releases it's 2012 report on NorMER, and its sister programs, NORD-STAR and TUNDRA.

The annual meeting of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) for the Nordic Centre of Excellence Programme on Effect Studies and Adaptation to Climate Change (ADAPT) was held at GEUS in Copenhagen, Denmark on the 8th and 9th of November 2012. Following this, the SAB has prepared a report on each centre of excellence's (NCoE) progress.

Some highlights from the report include:

  • The centres contain and are attracting world class expertise.
  • The teams are clearly highly dedicated and passionate about their research fields and their mission.
  • The centres are all making good progress with publication outputs in traditional scientific fora.
  • All centres understand the importance of communication and engagement with broader society.
  • The early career researchers of NorMER are highly motivated and dynamic, and have made independent efforts to initiate research synthesis activities.
  • NorMER has been successful in profiling itself and developing an internationally-recognised identity.

The SAB's specific and general recommendations will be used to further improve on NorMER's past success and ensure the group's mission, “to train a generation of interdisciplinary researchers”, is achieved.
